Thai Traditional Massage

Chiva-Som Academy’s Thai Traditional Massage training course guides participants through the different pressure and stretching techniques and the treatment’s many uses in curing a range of ailments.

Course Objectives
After successfully completing the Thai Traditional Massage course, participants will understand the theory behind Thai massages and the basics of traditional Thai medicine. Participants will understand the treatments’ indications, contra-indications and benefits, and will be able to safely and effectively perform Thai Traditional Massage treatments.
Course Topics
This professional Thai Traditional Massage training course covers the history of Thai massages and the basic theories of sickness in Thai traditional medicine. The course covers the different classifications of Thai massages (including the difference between Royal Thai massages and Traditional Thai massages), and introduce participants to the concept of the 10 Sens (Thai meridian lines). The course also covers the indications, contra-indications and benefits of Thai Traditional Massage treatments. In a real spa environment, participants will practice massage movements, techniques and sequences while expert instructors offer advice on conducting consultations, aftercare and home care.
Examinations
The Academy will conduct both theoretical and practical examinations towards the end of the course.
Certification
After successfully completing the course and examinations, participants will receive a CSIA Professional Certificate in Thai Traditional Massage.
