Objectives

By the end of the Hot Stone Massage course, participants will understand the theory of hot stones and the functions of heat modality. They will understand the indications, contra-indications and benefits of hot stone massage treatments, and will be able to perform them safely and effectively.


Course Topics

The Hot Stone Massage course introduces participants to the history of hot stone massages, the fundamentals of geo-thermotherapy, thermotherapy and cryotherapy. Participants will learn how to review skin, muscular systems and perform figure analysis, as well as establish the indications and contra-indications of hot stone massage treatments. In a real spa environment, participants will learn about stones and equipment (including their maintenance) and will practice hot stone massage routines, consultations, and aftercare.


Examinations

The academy will conduct both theoretical and practical examinations towards the end of the course.


Certification

After successfully completing the course and examinations, participants will receive a CSIA Professional Certificate in Hot Stone Massage.
