Body Massage
By using techniques to increase blood circulation and lymphatic flow, massage therapy improves muscle tone and skin texture and offers relief from muscular tension, aches and pains. Chiva-Som’s CIBTAC-certified Body Massage training course is designed as an entry-level introduction to massage therapy. With a focus on the use of oil and Swedish massage techniques, it equips participants with the skills to perform effective body massages. Moreover, participants will receive certification from one of Thailand’s most renowned massage schools.

By the end of the Body Massage course, participants will be able to understand the theory behind body massage therapy and the indications, contra-indications and benefits of various massage treatments. With the course’s practical approach, participants will be able to safely and effectively perform relaxing body massages.
Course Topics
The Body Massage course offers an introduction to the history and types of massage treatments and its many variations and corresponding benefits. Instructors will guide participants through the process of preparing for massage treatments, including consultations, body assessments, pre-treatments, nutritional evaluations and aftercare. In a real spa environment, participants will also receive practical instructions on classical massage movements and their uses and effects, varying body postures and massage positions, body massage routines, and anatomical and physiological revisions.
Examinations
Each participant will practise 10 commercial cases during the course, and the Academy will conduct both theoretical and practical examinations towards the end of the course. The Examining Board will issue CIBTAC examination dates annually.
Certification
After successfully completing the course and examinations, participants will receive a CSIA Professional Certificate in Body Massage.
Pre-requisites
To enrol in the Body Massage course, participants will need a recognised Anatomy and Physiology Professional Certificate or a certificate of equivalent value.
