Basic Reflexology

Reflexology is an alternative therapy involving the application of pressure through hand and finger massage techniques to the reflex points around the feet. These points will affect specific body parts and help the body return to a balanced state by relieving stress and tension. The Basic Reflexology training course offers an introduction to the fundamental concepts of Reflexology and teaches students to perform Reflexology treatments on their clients.

Course Objectives

By the end of the Basic Reflexology course, students will understand the key principles of Reflexology and will be able to identify the structure and pressure points of the feet. Participants will be able to evaluate the indications, contra-indications and benefits of Reflexology treatments, and will be able to perform them in a safe and effective way.


Course Topics

The Basic Reflexology course offers an introduction to Reflexology, including its history, its key theories, and its health benefits. The course examines the structure of the hands and feet and maps out their reflex and acupressure points. Moreover, the course will guide students through the techniques, movements and sequences of Reflexology, and introduces them to the different segments of consultations, aftercare and home care in a real-life spa environment.


Examinations

The Academy will conduct both theoretical and practical examinations towards the end of the course. After finishing the course, participants are required to perform four case studies consisting of four treatments per client.


Certification

After successfully completing the course, case studies and examinations, participants will receive a CSIA Professional Certificate in Basic Reflexology.


Pre-requisites

To enrol in the Basic Reflexology course, participants will need a recognised Anatomy and Physiology Professional Certificate or a certificate of equivalent value.
